Online tool from CSEBO helps you pick the health plan that best meets your preferences

Ocean View School District takes pride to bring you the highest standard of health benefits. For this Open Enrollment season, we invite you to use My Plan Choices, a secure online tool from CSEBO, to learn more about health plan offerings including expected out of pocket costs.

Last year, of those employees who used My Plan Choices:

  • 90% found the tool “helpful” or “very helpful”

  • 82% said it influenced their plan choice

  • 89% said they knew more about their plan because of the tool

Ocean View School District provides employees with a comprehensive benefit package


Ocean View employees have access to a free emotional support helpline. This helpline provides access to specially trained Optum mental health specialists. Callers may also receive referrals to community resources to help them with specific concerns.


HOW TO ACCESS HELP

If you receive benefits through Ocean View/CSEBO

Call Optum at the regular number, 888-444-8624 and use “CSEBO” as the access code.

If you do not receive benefits through Ocean View/CSEBO

Call the helpline at 866-342-6892.

Tax Sheltered Annuities (403b)

OVSD also offers an optional deferred program for employees which meets the requirements of section 403(b) of the Internal Revenue Service code. Under this plan, employees can set aside certain amounts of money each pay period. The employee does not pay income tax on this amount until it is withdrawn. Interest earned on these funds is also not taxed until withdrawal. Certain withdrawal restrictions apply. Generally, these funds may not be withdrawn until the employee attains age 59 1/2.

CalSTRS Counseling Appointments

A limited number of individual counseling appointments are available to all certificated school employees.  These counseling services provide information about the retirement benefits, disability benefits, and survivor benefits available through CalSTRS.  To schedule an appointment, please contact Janet Kateley at

CalSTRS Telephone Counseling

CalSTRS now offers telephone appointments with counselors at their headquarters in Sacramento.  These appointments are available during regular business hours, as well as evenings and Saturdays.  If you would like to schedule a telephone appointment, please call CalSTRS at (800) 228-5453.
